Five on Friday

Just a quick fly by on this fine Friday morning-

1. I have a finished object- Balise which has been finished for a while, but not time to get photos of me actually wearing.  The fit is perfect, and I should probably actually wear it as it's supposed to be for warm weather!  I have a bunch of yarn left over and I'm not real sure how that happened.

2.  We have a contract on a house and we are supposed to close in 20 days, the contract was accepted on Monday-4 days ago!   So we are moving fast on getting the necessary paperwork and such together.  Apparently that's the market we're in now which is CRAZY!  It's been 12 years since we've done this and the process is very different.

3. Because of #2 I'm having moments when I feel a bit freaked out with all that needs to be done, and then equal moments of calm.  Fortunately we don't have to be out of our apartment until August, so we have plenty of time for the actual move.

4.  I'm hoping to meet Atlanta United secondary goal keeper Alec Kann, be still my beating heart!
He's an Atlanta native and was their primary goalie when their season began last year, this evening at a meet and greet. 
5.  Am making great progress on my Puntilla.  This has been a great portable project for when we've been out looking at houses.  I am having to restart Michigan- AGAIN which I think is going back in the queue for a while.  I haven't managed to find a yarn I'm happy with and the increases are not lining up as they should.

Happy Friday-am off to meet the home inspector, look at washers and dryers  . . .

Five on Friday

Five things I'm looking forward to:

1. I booked my flight to DC to visit Andrew in March and for the first time ever I had enough frequent flyer miles to pay for my ticket.

2.  In the photo above is my order of Coast for 2 sweaters I plan to knit- I'll use the dark brown for Michigan by Amy Miller and the sea-foam and off white for Balise by Marie Greene.  Mary was kind enough to organize the order.  The upper left is what Mary will use for her Balise and Deena will use the upper right.

3.  A 3 day weekend, and I'd better enjoy it because work is gonna get CA-RAZY over the next few weeks.  With a new director wanting to put his own "stamp" on things I expect there will be lots of revisions and changes to the 2 reports that I have to put together.

4.  Just a couple things on my to do list this weekend, so I'm hoping for LOTS of knitting and maybe starting on Steve's Alaska wall hanging, or at least reading through the instructions.

5. Catching up on the Olympics; especially the figure skating.

The weather is supposed to be kinda yucky, so I'm glad that I won't have to be out in it except tomorrow when I get my hair done.  I hope the weekend finds you having a chance to do all the things that you  love.

Five on Friday

1.  Still enjoying the balcony [Sophie is too, but she is pretty worn out from being at my office today]-I have gone from coffee to a glass of prosecco!

2.  Looking forward to a low country boil with Steve at Vino Venue tonight.  I know a few ladies I'd love to have join me here some time for wine tasting and perhaps to share a smoke salmon quesadilla!

3.  Over this long weekend there will be college football [maybe at Fado's at 7:00 am?!  GT vs BC] Definitely knitting, church [first time in a while], a quick lunch and a movie on Sunday.  I am hoping that The Light Between the Oceans in movie format is as good as the book.  I haven't even looked at the reviews.

4.  One special project that I hope to have finished this weekend.  Putting all of the cards, messages, etc for PJ into one special place.  My goal is to have all of the childhood/baby stuff for both boys consolidated and moved into the closet until our next move.

5.  Will be getting a hands on lesson for my new laptop tomorrow at the Apple store.

I'm pretty excited about what the weekend has in store for me-hope this Labor Day weekend finds you relaxing and not laboring.  I'm also hoping that we'll have a true break from the hot-hot weather.
